Carnovsky is an art and design duo from Milan including Francesco Rugi and Silvia Quintanilla. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

RGB<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I would consider Carnovsky\u2019s most impressive work of art to be their RGB collection. This consists of wall paintings and murals that ironically contain only four colors, CMYK: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. The strict use of these colors allows Carnovsky to portray this effect where certain aspects of the painting become portrayed under different hues of RGB light, being red, green, and blue (hence the name).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the ambient hue changes, some parts of the painting become much more apparent then others. In fact, some parts of the painting disappear completely. This is an experimental project and not all effects are intended nor mastered, some might say. But the effects that are created are to be greatly appreciated. As can be seen below, the human depicted on the wall takes a different appearance under each light hue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorite piece is the mural shown below. It can be seen as a capitol or government building of some sort under red light. This building disappears behind trees under green light, and then the entire image transforms into a ship in the water under blue light. All scenes in this piece are very drastic from each other, yet still appear harmonious when shown together under white light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARTIFICIALIA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this, Carnovsky has another project called Artificialia. Not their most impressive work in my eyes. This is a collection of women\u2019s bags designed with the inspiration of bird cages.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carnovsky also did a short project called Love \u201860. These letters are made to look like a neon sign, but is actually a radiator. Heat is applied to a metal wire, so that it glows bright red\/pink. This is the only installation for this collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMMISSION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And finally, every artist does a little bit of commission for their family and friends. Carnovsky has done a couple album covers, CD covers, and vinyl covers for an Italian band called \u00be Had Been Eliminated.\u00a0In some of these commission works, the artists use techniques from the RGB collection. In others, they use minimalistic drawings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carnovsky also created T-Shirt designs for 3\/4 Had Been Eliminated. However, these were never put into production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
