Focused on the context of a site for each project, Luftwerk applies their own interpretive layer, integrating the physical structure, historical context, and embedded information into each piece.\u00a0Luftwerk primarily uses geometry and different shades of colors to capture symmetrical and well flowing designs.\u00a0Luftwerk focuses on the concepts that are introduced in architecture and in the color spectrum. They combine ideas about projection and human interaction in most if not all of their works.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-179\" style=\"font-size: 1rem\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-d18\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/03\/Luftwerk1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"401\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0In my presentation, I focu<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">sed on four main works of theirs including Spectrum, Luminous Field, Turning Sky, and Color Code.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Spectrum is a large-scale, digitized and re-imagined color wheel with 529 painted square panels that cover an entire wall. Once illuminated with animated, colored light, the reception of the colors shift in more than 3,174 tones of red, yellow, and blue.<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-184\" style=\"font-size: 1rem\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-d18\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/03\/Luftwerk6-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-d18\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/03\/Luftwerk6-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-d18\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/03\/Luftwerk6-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-d18\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/03\/Luftwerk6-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-d18\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/03\/Luftwerk6.jpg 1800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Luminous Field is work that is comprised of projections that video-mapped the tiles of the plaza creating a digital mosaic. Inspired by Italian marble floors, the tessellation patterns, the digital mosaic added a new, contemporary layer to the work<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">.<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-181\" style=\"font-size: 1rem\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-d18\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/03\/Luftwerk3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Turning Sky is an ephemeral lighting station that visualizes local\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">weather and atmospheric conditions on the trail. Patterns of clouds varying in speed coincide with wind data, velocity, and direction, and the ever-changing colors represent temperature.<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-180\" style=\"font-size: 1rem\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-d18\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/03\/Luftwerk2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"401\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Color Code consists of nine paintings applied to the gallery\u2019s walls.
