I find physical art very satisfying to create, as it’s tangibility helps me see the progress I make. Oftentimes my hobbies guide what art I create. This miniature is used in one of my favorite tabletop games Battletech. Being able to craft a narrative around the miniatures as I paint them helps me find inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes though I’m just in the right place and time to capture a scene that I think is cool. I drive by this herd of bison every couple days for over a month. They were always spread out until this day when they’d gathered together to eat. Right as I took the photo a murder of crows took flight behind the bison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve been lucky to have art classes that have expanded my background into new mediums and styles. I’d never worked with linoleum or ink outside of walking on it and writing with it. Learning how to get different textures and finding the right saturation was a fun journey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At WPI I’ve been able to learn more about digital art forms and develop skills in Maya and the Unreal Engine. This has lead to experimenting with game design and character modeling. My hobbies have guided my art, and I’m turn my art has guided my hobbies. But my favorite pieces of art are pieces that address the humor in our circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
