Hi! This is Emily Sollecito. At WPI, I am a double major in Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in my last semester. My campus involvement is mainly in varsity athletics, where I have been the captain of the field hockey team for three years, and am playing in my fifth season. My identity is largely defined by being an athlete, but I like to explore many other areas of interest.

My favorite medium is ceramics. I started making pottery on the wheel in early high school, and loved it so much I joined a studio outside of school. I look at ceramics like a science, where there is always something to test: water content, glaze combinations, clay type, kiln temperature. I love pottery because I think its a type of art medium that anyone can appreciate, regardless of how artistically inclined. My favorite thing to do is to make sets of idential items, and prove to myself that I can not only create a form, but can replicate it.
