Overview
To give some context, this proposal includes two possible projects that I am deciding between: light painting, and an LED grid. Also, because I tend to like to bite off more than I can chew, I have derived “goal steps” as I like to call them, where I lay out things I want to do with this project, only moving onto each when the previous one is achieved. This allows me to aim for something really cool while keeping my expectations and timeline realistic as I am taking difficult classes this term.
Light Painting
This uses long exposure photography to capture the movement of light over time, often with a brief flash or two of a subject to work it into the painting.
Goal Steps:
- Basic light painting
- Using photoshop to clean the images up and add cool effects.
- Using robotics to get robots to do it for me so I can record cool light shows and then show the after images.

LED Grid
Using an LED grid to create an animated pixel display.
Goal Steps by Difficulty:
- Synced to music, represent math or science, etc.
- Story animation
- 3D led box
