This week I got my hands on color gel filters and cut them to fit the shape of my flashlight. That means I can finally have some green leaves, and use practically any other color I want. I went to Wachusett Mountain and found what I thought was a good spot to do the final piece. However, it got dark really quick on the mountain. I was completely surrounded by trees, so that didn’t help. I think for my final piece, I will look for a spot with less tree cover so that I can get a better photograph with an actual background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of my favorite light paintings so far. If I can’t get something that looks this good by Monday the 9th, I am going to consider photoshopping in a background for the tree. It’s not “against the rules” but most light painters prefer using minimal photo editing. That’s why I’m saving it as a last resort. Here are some others I made:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
