Flynn Duniho – Update (not everything is working)

on

The 3D printing is having a few more issues than planned. There’s just one big piece to go, but it keeps warping and peeling from the print bed. So in the meantime, I don’t have the full-size model yet. I think worst-case scenario I go down to the CollabLab or something like that and see if they have printers big enough to accommodate my print.

There are a few things that I got working, though! I figured out the fur, so now it doesn’t look… terrible. I also figured out vines, I’m pretty happy with the way those look. I also made an eye opening animation that I’m fairly happy with. Next steps will be to make more animations, I’d ideally do a hand-drawn one. I got a little sidetracked this week working on a personal project so I didn’t have time to do that this week lol. I think it’d be fun to make the animations in grease pencil and make them glow, so it shines onto the wolf head too. That might look interesting.

The animation with the leaves is really cool. Maybe you could add flowers. It’ll look really cool on the projector.

I stand by my comment in class to add a wink and maybe an eyebrow raise, I think it could add some fun to the animations. I also think adding flowers blooming to the vine one would be beautiful.

I really like the look of all the animations, especially the one with the vines growing on the wolf’s head. Making some of your animations longer may be better, as some of them, like the fur one, don’t last long enough for the viewer to take it in.

All the animations look great! I particularly like the animation with the leaves, it’s really well done.

The vines were my favorite animation. But I also liked the geometric patterns, especially the way they looked in person when you were presenting!
