Through the term I was set on doing my project based upon how natural light changes through the hours of a day. I wanted a way so show just how much natural light changes each day on the surface of objects, but also when it is reflected off of objects.
I originally had the idea of taking the same framing of a picture over and over for a day and editing each object into its separate part of one layer. After bringing this idea into class, a class mate told me of a national geographic photo that sounded similar to that. I then scoped out my house for a place where I thought was interesting. (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-21l05i6MZYRYZRb2rZtQa9hXOqne2Nf?usp=sharing) I then decided after coming to class and discussing the idea with classmates that I would not use the places I took practice photos, but instead try to stay more consistent to my original idea and take the photos of outside in my backyard to incorporate more nature into my project.

These were stunning shots, but after doing more research on how these shots were taken I found out there were over 2400 photos used to combine into these photos with weeks of editing as a full time job. I just then knew that there was not even close to enough time to get theses masterpieces of shots in time.
I then looked for an alternative and landed upon a more simplified version of the national geographic feeling and came upon the style below.

This style would still allow for me to be able to keep my original idea but also keep my scope for this project in mind.
Overall I see the project as a success in what I set out to accomplish. There were many complications such as not being able to devote days to this project because of other classes and life in general. There were also about fourteen days in a row that there was overcast and I needed to get some photos taken, so the photos I have were not all on sunny beautiful days. There were also surprises such as someone in my house moving the camera, as well as the tripod being wiggly at the top as I pressed the button on the camera to take the photos.
However, this project has really put into perspective just how amazingly talented and creative light artist are. It is really inspiring to see the unique art style of utilizing light in such a variety to have the viewer in a trance of amazement.
