Taking into consideration that this is an exploration piece where I don’t have a clear image of the final version, I think it’s safe to say that things are going according to plan. This last week I worked with the images we previously shot and edited those RAW files. I would have liked to follow Hannu Huhtamo’s technique of not editing the photos, but I have not managed to capture the light sources as vibrantly as I would like. I went through some Adobe Lightroom tutorials, including the one for the masking tool and had some decent success with enhancing the colors, reducing noise, and darkening the background. For being my first time editing photos, I’m pleased with how they came out. You can see the progression of my edits below.














This upcoming weekend I will take more photos. I have a lot of poses and combinations in mind to try out. I will also try emulating blacklights, shooting from different angles, and changing up my long exposure techniques (3/4 time moving + 1/4 time holding pose). I also plan on filming and editing videos to show what’s going on to produce these shots.
