During this final week of development, we had assembled another block to add onto our stack. This time around however, we ran into many issues. One of the issues is that if the magnets had not aligned perfectly, no electrical connection would be established between the blocks. When testing, we were able to get the blocks to light up when stacking them in a particular order, but they would no longer work when switching the order. We needed to get the blocks to work regardless of the order. This led to hours of trial and error in order to get the magnets at the correct height.

Trying to align the magnets required us to take the blocks apart multiple times which introduced a few issues. One of the most annoying issues was that if we weren’t careful when disassembling them, the wires would rip off of the led strip thus requiring either a new led strip or the use of a smaller portion of the current one. Another issue which arose is that taking apart the blocks would sometimes snap the pegs. Because 3d printing would take too much time, we super glued them together instead.

The final step for us is to make the minecraft block decals to stick to the blocks and add some extra lighting effects.
