Unfortunately, I did not take any photos, but Mandy and Adam can vouch for me 🙂 ! The scoring and breaking part went really smoothly and I walked away with only one small cut on my finger! I am definitely glad that I went to the workshop that I did, since we are so close to the end of the term, it would be pretty miserable to be trying this out for the first time with no prior knowledge. I used a diamond Dremel bit like was suggested to me by a classmate, and it worked almost too well… The only issue I see with this is if I pause in one spot for too long, it creates a divot in the glass, rendering it unusable. To help prevent this, I think I will only use the Dremel bit on large chunks of glass that I want to grind down, and I will buy a cheap carborundum stone to smooth the edges flat. Other than that, I haven’t been able to start any other processes until the glass is cut and smoothed out. Hopefully those will run smoothly! I hope to order the stone tonight and it should arrive by Friday, that way I can finish all the cuts and smoothing over the weekend, and begin foiling and soldering next week!

Today I made some hexagon cuts on my glass in the makerspace.
