Making the lanterns ended up taking a lot longer and was more complicated than I originally thought. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process of making lanterns included<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>bending bamboo<\/li><li>cutting bamboo to arrange into a &#8220;star&#8221; base<\/li><li>creating lantern form using hot glue and dixie cups<\/li><li>cutting and gluing fabric onto lantern<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net\/v\/t1.15752-9\/p1080x2048\/120823088_3646059945413677_8880510157091933751_n.jpg?_nc_cat=102&amp;_nc_sid=ae9488&amp;_nc_ohc=-bsX4ynsH_QAX_QGyRM&amp;_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-1.xx&amp;tp=6&amp;oh=ca8462db8eda69583524a75dcf146cf4&amp;oe=5FA22CC0\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"340\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The last two lanterns I really like so if I have time I might go back and replace some of the lanterns to get a more uniform look. They&#8217;re all a little lopsided but I think that&#8217;s something I can fix\/hide during the arrangement and photo process. There&#8217;s still a lot to do but my general plan is: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>final touches on stepping stone lanterns (cleaning up edges)<\/li><li>paint moon lantern and cut out a sturdier man silhouette<\/li><li>combine LED and motor code sequence on Arduino<\/li><li>arrange the lanterns<\/li><li>hide the wires, final touches to take a nice photo<\/li><li>take and edit photos!<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My goal for this week was to finish the stepping stone lanterns.
