After many hours of crinkling tin foil and burning my fingers on hot glue, I’ve completed the metal reflective foil tree which will support the EL wire “leaves”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tree itself stands a little over 1 ft tall (14”)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I used the trees outside my window as models for how branches should look. Unfortunately I was unable to capture the very small branches with tin foil (too delicate) but hopefully they will be seen through EL wire and its reflection off the foil.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately I ran out of hot glue sticks after construction of the tree and was unable to find the correct size at the local price chopper. I currently have over 30ft of EL wire to attach so that will be my next step. I have tested that it is all working and cut a board to spray paint glossy black for the base to emulate the surface that classmates liked during the proof of concept stage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
