Some of his more well-known pieces have been featured in National Geographic, and a variety of other pieces have been published in magazines and online. In his work, Janne combines his love of light art with his skills in painting, sketching, and 3-Dimensional Design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"404\" height=\"288\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-a20\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2020\/09\/image-27.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-333\" \/><figcaption>You Gave Away My Everything<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>He focuses primarily on light painting and specializes in what he calls, &#8220;Light Topography&#8221;, and &#8220;Light Figures&#8221;. &#8220;You Gave Away my Everything&#8221; is a piece that exemplifies his development of topography within a space. He creates these works with small handheld LEDs, tracing the aspects of a room, person, and space to create a topographical map. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"404\" height=\"270\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/lightart-a20\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2020\/09\/image-29.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-335\" \/><figcaption>Dhamma<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Janne is in the class of Light artists that do not believe in editing post-production. So, all of his photos are taken directly from the camera, after being taken with an incredibly long exposure. Using multicolored LEDs and a technique where he &#8220;catches&#8221; the light between strokes, Parviainen is able to create the effect seen in each of these topographical spaces. He will use spaces that have previously been established, like the woods, someone&#8217;s home, a street corner, or create his desired effect through manipulation of a small studio where he does non-installation work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d3mg30ow27gcov.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/1_Studio-Process_Ophelia-1200x640.jpg\" alt=\"Behind the scenes - Studio process - Light Painting Blog\" \/><figcaption>Ophelia<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>By combining his love of light artistry as well as drawing and painting, Janne imitates famous works of art such as Ophelia, by John Everett Millais.
