They first presented their work in 2010 and focus on RGB art that makes use of color changing lights that interact with a variety of prints. After meeting in graduate school they decided they wanted to work together after they finished their degrees. The idea came from experimenting with two things they were interested in, printing techniques and lighting. The combination resulted in the RGB project.

Their goal was to create something that is ever changing where things can be revealed and then fade away. What remains the most time consuming part on all mediums is maintaining balance between the three layers when viewed in white light. After an initial idea they start by forming one layer which usually has a set theme like plants, animals, fish, etc. next they start the second layer over lapped on the first and then the third over the second. After the three layers are together there is lots of changes to be made to make sure they interact with each other the right way.

Carnovsky is a Milan based art and design duo comprised of Francesco Rugi and Silvia Quintanilla.
