My main priority components are the fiber optic cable and the battery. Unfortunately, both parts had to be sent back and replaced. The battery pack that I received was too bulky and would not fit in the pants comfortably as I imagined. I did some research and found a Power Boost Charger on Ada Fruit to use for my power supply. The boost converter chip has low battery detection LED, built-in load-sharing battery charger circuit, 2A internal switch, synchronous conversion, great efficiency, 1000mA charge-rate, and 700KHz high-frequency operation. This power booster is much smaller with the dimensions 1.5\u201d x 1\u201d. The charger will be powered by a small lithium polymer ion battery pack that provides 3.7V and 1200mA. I also replaced the fiber optic cables with smaller ones because they are more malleable and less visible. As for my issue with the ends of the cables slipping out of the jeans, I tested that the epoxy that I will be using to bind the cables to the LED will also prevent the cables from slipping out of the holes in the jeans.
