Texturing Captain Laerath was kind of a pain- the are a lot of small areas that ended up bleeding over. Figuring out masking was key. Most of the faces are a solid color, but I added bark and vines on his torso and face to tie him to the ship. The vines looks good but are hard to see in gameplay and the bark doesn’t look very barky, but I think with the late-90s style I was going for it looks pretty good. There are a few areas that wouldn’t texture for some reason- a slit at the front of his hat and part of the faces on the back of his braid, but they’re small enough that they’re not really noticeable. If I were less pressed for time or more experienced I would try to fix that but for my purposes I think it’s fine.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":307,"featured_media":2192,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"cybocfi_hide_featured_image":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[4,1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2190","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-character-texturing","category-uncategorized"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/26\/2022\/12\/Screenshot-38-1.png","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2190","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/307"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2190"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2190\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2195,"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2190\/revisions\/2195"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/2192"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2190"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=2190"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3500-b22\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2190"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
