The Tower: Modular Building Kit Concept

on

Since rococo architecture is very ridiculous (in a good way) and overly complex, I will be focusing on using texture maps in a lot of places and making symmetrical blocks of wall that can be duplicated many times. There will unfortunately be some pieces that will be kind of complicated and need to be sculpted (like the human statues and some architectural pieces) but I will leave those for later on and make simplified versions first. Once I do start them I will focus on duplicating them and maybe figuring out how to make a base that can be slightly altered.

The first thing I will make is the outside:

A lot of this is simple clutter that I can leave for later, such as various bones and grass and rocks. The most complex part of this part of the scene is the base of the tower, divided into two modular parts.

Next is the room inside:

This is by far the most complicated section, so once again I plan to break it down into repeatable sections as best I can. The room is very small, which will make it easier to get the cluttered, extravagant feeling I am aiming for, and rococo-style rooms are very repetitive already which will help. This is the basics of the room, I will add more clutter later on.

Finally, the basement:

The purpose of the basement is to be a room that mirrors the beauty of the former areas, but darker, dustier, and more broken. I will reuse the statue art from previous rooms and the bones. The only new things will be crates, some of which will be closed and some of which will be open and containing clutter from the upstairs room.
