I was really excited to get started on making the environment properly, starting with clutter! Since my game takes place outdoors, a lot of my clutter is nature: trees, rocks, bushes, etc. I modeled and textured 8 new meshes to help me achieve a world that felt full. These meshes include 3 trees (pine, oak, and bare), a rock, a bush, leaves, dirt, and a tree stump. I once again painted my textures, going for a more stylized look.

Once the meshes were done, I found a skybox on the Unity Asset Store for free. It’s a really nice orange/gold color, perfect for the autumn aesthetic and it gives the whole scene a really cozy feeling.

After that, it was back to assembling! I took advice from our class critique and painted some cool new grass textures, including one for corn. The result is great, you can walk through the stalks as they go up above the players head.

There’s still some adjustments I would like to make before considering my world complete, but adding clutter really made the environment come together. I am very pleased with my results!
