Diego Arce: Final Submission

Here is my final, it is a city racing game titled Drive. It started out as a cover art I made for a previous class. and now its a full unity scene with driving mechanics, a world built from scratch and music from Prof Manzo’s Class.
My original concept had inspiration from GTA V and Cyberpunk 2077. I was hoping to add my from each game like I would love to have the ability to get in and out of the car, I would have also liked to have the same aesthetic as Cyberpunk in at least the lighting but I didn’t have enough time to create assets that would enable me to have that sort of environment. I also had envisioned having some canyon roads in addition to the city streets but decided to scrap that idea due to time limitation, but I am still extremely happy with how the project turned out!

While working on the project I learned a lot of things, including how useful it is to make modular assets instead of just modeling an entire building for example is, how to rig a character and import it and animations into Unity, how to create textures by using real life pictures, how to export models from Maya to then texture in Substance Painter to then use in Unity. This class was amazing and taught me so much more than I thought it ever would!

The World itself

The Garage

The NPC in the garage is a model I created for 3D Modeling 1 based off Ansel Elgort from the movie Baby Driver. I use Mixamo to give him an idle animation as if he was someone who worked in that garage.

My Assets

These are all the assets that I made, basically everything that is environmental design. Other assets like the Car, the media player, and their respective scripts were obtained via the Unity Asset Store (Vehicle Physics Pro & Professional Music Player). The music used in the game is not from the Unity asset store, I used the music students in Prof Manzo’s Class made for my game including files from Parker Hunt, Ryan Kornitsky, Leo Hirano, and Nate Caughron. They all sounded great so I decided why not include them all, thus the need for the music player asset.

Here’s the download just unzip it and open the file called “Drive”

Here are the controls for the Car (default ones from the asset’s website), to control the music you just use your mouse.
