Hey everyone, my name is Conor and I’m a junior IMGD BA major with a visual art concentration. I’m from Wantage, New Jersey. Art is a huge part of my life and I would consider it my biggest passion, and I feel very lucky to be able to have it as my major as well as hopefully a career in the future. I’ve been making art for pretty much my entire life, since a lot of my relatives are artistic people and they started me young. I only started doing digital art in late high school, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since, especially 3D art using Maya, ZBrush, and Substance Painter.
I’ve pretty much exhausted all the art courses that WPI has to the point where I’ve started taking independent studies to get IMGD credit. The biggest thing I’d like to improve relating to my art skills is kind of bringing it all together and learning how different software and game engines can be used together, and this course seems like a perfect class to learn this skill.
Another creative art that I am obsessed with is film. I love watching all different types of movies and appreciating the technical work that goes into them, and I’ll occasionally do some screenwriting myself. I find all sorts of stylized art inspiring, but I mostly model my own art style off of some combination of Overwatch and Marvel comics.
My favorite type of work to make is 3D character models, and I have some pictured below. All of these are a part of a larger project titled Rigs of Color that many WPI IMGD students have been working on. The goal of Rigs of Color is to make diverse 3D models easily accessible online. I also have some experience in making 3D environments, which is something I definitely am looking forward to working more on and improving. Some examples can be found below.
I also like to occasionally do some 2D art, mainly in Photoshop. Below I have my character lineup for a concept art independent study I did, as well as my final for Digital Painting class.

Your work seems colorful to me because it has a good amount of vibrant colors.

Your character designs are so distinct, you could easily tell them apart by silhouettes. Each characters color schemes and designs are very striking, and they allow a person to get a sense of who that character is through their appearance alone.
