Hi, I’m Aaron and I’m from Brooklyn, New York. I am an IMGD general BA major. I had a concentration in audio, but then realized that I wouldn’t be able to complete my focus pair before the end of my 4th year, so I dropped the concentration. I have a passion for music and am very interested in working in sound design for games or movies/tv shows.
I have been making music and other forms of digital art for about 10 years now. I’ve made 2d and 3d animations, drawings in photoshop, and I’ve made a few small games for my high school and college classes. I also play piano in my free time. I am currently the music composer and sound designer for the Imperius MQP, a real-time strategy game set in space. I am not very experienced in sound design, having only taken Game Audio 1, but I am excited to learn more about it for this project.
I am inspired by games like Nier: Automata, Undertale, Bastion, and everything by Nintendo. I am also inspired by music artists of many genres, but especially rock music.
Examples of my work:

- A game I worked on for Digital Game Design 1 (I designed all the levels): https://alexmarrinan.github.io/2900/A22/game.html
- A game I worked on for Game Development Process: https://croissantmoongames.itch.io/date-a-dino
The skate park gives me the feeling of how familiar I am to playing games that look similar such as Tony Hawk games
Badge: Dark
I like the darker tone and lighting you have in some of your pieces, specifically the digital painting and level design. The perspective of the painting makes it even creepier as the person looks like they’re reaching out for help.
Badge: Inventive
All of your pieces have a different feel that feels like its unique within itself and I love it.
Badge: colorful
I feel like your portfolio is colorful in the sense of variety; each piece is bright and interesting on its own, and very different from the others.
Detailed
I really like the underground basement interior in your 4700 final projects. It is very well-polished in every detail, and the room at the end gives me goosebumps.
Badge: funny
I was really amused by your 2D animation portfolio. The animations were all really clean and smooth despite having goofy proportions.
Badge: Impressive. I’m tone deaf as all hell so any musical creation is impressive to me.
Inventive
It’s great to see your experience in multiple fields, ranging from 2D & 3D art to music creation.
You got the dark badge! The first several works in the portfolio are really spooky, and the environment n particular feels like part of a horror game.
Badge: Though Provoking
Your sense of storytelling an world building in your work is phenomenal!
Familiar – I really liked your original music! It has a very smooth retro-feel that just gives off comfortable vibes. It all works very well together and it’s really cool!

Explanation: The ASCII Breaker Game is so neat, I don’t think I would have ever thought to make a breaker game like that!! It also gave me major flashbacks to playing that on my first little phone, a Firefly, that had like 4 buttons and some arrow keys lol
Badge: thought-provoking
I really liked the ASCII Breaker game you have, it made me think about how simple features like the screen shake can add so much character to a game.
