Aaron Waldman Final Project

My game, Robot Shoot, doesn’t involve shooting like I originally intended. Instead, it’s more of a simple walking simulator where you interact with the robots and trigger their animations by walking up to them. However, the setting and story remain mostly the same: you are in a post-apocalyptic world where robots have taken over and…

Aaron Waldman – Character Animation

I decided to use Mixamo to get all my animations. Since my robot model is for an enemy, I needed idle, walk, punch, and death animations. When searching “robot” on mixamo, I found a dance animation that I thought was funny, so I downloaded that too. I probably won’t use it in the game, though.

Aaron Waldman – Character Model Textured

I finished texturing my robot enemy model. I decided to make him very rusty and dirty because I think that will make him more intimidating to fight against in-game. This is what he looks like in Unity:

Aaron Waldman – Character Modeling 1st Pass

I made a rough model of my robot enemy. I plan to make a few different variations on this model to make different types of enemies. The most basic enemy type will perform a melee attack, so I made sure to give the model sharp claws. I also plan to make the eyes, mouth and…

Aaron Waldman – Finished Environment/Midterm

I have mostly finished my environment. During the in-class critique, I received the feedback that all of my props were too reflective, which may blind the player if in a brightly lit environment, so I increased the roughness and turned down the metallic slider for each of my props. I also changed the dimensions of…

Modular Building Kit Texturing

I textured my building kit props in substance painter and then brought them into Unity. Here are some screenshots: When I walked around my props using the first person character in unity, I realized that all the props are too big relative to the player. I also realized that my door and window props don’t…

Aaron Waldman: Modular Kit Modeling

Here are a few renders of the models I’ve made. I made a door, a control desk that the player can hide behind (which is designed so I can stitch multiple of them together to create a wider desk), a control panel (which is designed to be stitched together into either a taller or wider…

Aaron Waldman – Modular Building Kit Concept

Here are my concept drawings for my modular building kit. There aren’t that many different things that will make up the game world because it takes place entirely indoors and the robot facility is meant to be devoid of decoration and purely for function. However, the bits of cover that the player can hide behind…

Aaron Waldman Robot Shoot Level Design

“Robot Shoot” is a temporary name for my game, I’ll come up with a better name later. The following screenshots were taken while exploring my level using the 1st person character controller from the starter assets package:

Aaron Waldman Game Concept Proposal

Genre: first person shooter Backstory: the year is 2300. Artificial intelligence has advanced beyond human intelligence, and now robots are the dominant species, and the humans live in exile. You play as the leader of the human resistance force and you are infiltrating the main robot base to take down their control hub and restore…

Aaron Waldman Intro & Portfolio

Hi, I’m Aaron and I’m from Brooklyn, New York. I am an IMGD general BA major. I had a concentration in audio, but then realized that I wouldn’t be able to complete my focus pair before the end of my 4th year, so I dropped the concentration. I have a passion for music and am…
