Description:

The concept I created I titled Bobbled Beings, a 3D open-world adventure game with bobbled head kawaii animals and fruits piloting mechs in an ecocity. I created a world that has a mix of a forest, beach, and city all in one with skyscrapers, sand, and trees filling the environment. All of the assets used are mine except the terrain, trees, grass, and water which are all from the environment assets package and terrain tools sample assets. I modeled the Watermelon Man in Maya to go for a more angular look. I used some of my work from concept art on the billboards in the scene. The skyscraper walls was grey concrete, tiled and colored in photoshop. The character animations are from Mixamo.

Reflection:

This project was a big wake-up call for time management as I know I have the ability to do all of the work but hesitate due to self-doubt and other issues. I have come to learn I won’t be able to produce the best quality I can by pushing deadlines until the last minute, especially with such a large project. Outside of that, this project has helped me regain confidence in modeling and texturing as I had not modeled since C Term of 2021, and I was not proud of the work I had produced. After this project, I can say I can decently model UV in Maya and learned how to use substance painter, and enjoyed making even the clutter and character in Maya and Substance.
