Hi! My name is Caroline, but most people call me Carrie. I’m a digital artist and a senior pursuing a BA in IMGD (no concentration). I switched from CS to IMGD in my junior year. I’m from Franklin, Massachusetts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art is not only a hobby for me, but a way of making money as well. I do commission work, creating custom artwork for people. My goals are to be a part of a studio or larger project and have my art and personal style become very appealing to employers and other digital artists. I want to create a style that is very unique while still embodying what I enjoy when making artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am most experienced with digital art, but I am branching out into 3D character art now. I would like to have a job in character creation, whether that be creating 3D character art, creating concept art, or helping other artists’ visions come to life. I have also been working on creating more craft-focused art. I have recently been working with watercolor painting, as well as marker illustrations. I am also learning how to paint digitally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m interested in learning how to craft my own particular style. As of now, I feel like my style is constantly changing and I am always losing interest in whatever style I’ve been using. I hope to get better at digital painting, so I look at a lot of other people’s work and learn from their paintings. I have a lot of trouble with color theory. I am also working on my 3D modeling skills and developing a style for that, which I think may be easier for me than creating a personal 2D art style. I am currently working on an MQP project involving creating models of people of color that will be rigged and published online for educational purposes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do not have much experience in making games. I have made a few for class, but nothing outside of class. I made the art for a dating simulator game last year and a small, interactive visual novel last term. I am going to be working on a game this term for my design class. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am very artistically inspired by the mobile game Identity V. I love the Tim Burton-inspired art style. The Survivor characters in the game are modeled in a Coraline-esque style with button eyes and small, scrawny stature, while the Hunter characters look more monstrous and realistic. All of the characters are very cute while still retaining their serious and threatening demeanors. All characters, Survivor or Hunter, are very unique in their designs as well as their different skins. The art is generally very eye-catching and inspiring to me. I am also very inspired by the 1986 My Little Pony ‘n Friends series, particularly the curly, thick hair and extremely visually stimulating colors that each pony has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I look forward to learning more about creating games and strengthening my artistic skills in this class!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
