Hello! My name is Victoria and I’ve lived in many places in my life it’s hard to pin down a single place I would describe as home, it tends to be wherever I actively am I say I’m from. But, for all intensive purposes I suppose I’m mostly from Quebec and New England with a strong Polish-Jewish background.
Art has always been a massive part of my life in one way or another, I’m a writer by trade, have had a photograph shown in Mass Moca (for 4 days), and have always had a fascination and love for drawing, sculpture, painting, and animation. One day I want to animate and make art for a living, I love art with all my heart and at this point wouldn’t give it up for the world. For many years of my life I was discouraged from doing art, being told it wasn’t a viable trade, so it wasn’t until mid 2020 that I actually decided to focus my efforts and switch, for the 6th or 7th time, my major into Interactive Media. For years I’d neglected my love due to what others said, so I will be the first to admit I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I’m a quick learner and will keep working till I have stuff I can put in a Portfolio that are finished products, as few things in this Portfolio I would consider completed or finished, most are WIP or simply sketches I did.
I’ve been learning digital and traditional art for almost two years now, and it’s been an incredible journey, I’m not starting from no where as I’d always doodled and at one point I was deep into art before I was discouraged, but I’m definitely still learning and figuring things out! I’m really interested in just improving every aspect of my art and so any critique, advice, etc is incredibly welcome.
I have near 0 experience making games, I’ve actually been taking classes with the idea that I’d go into film, and am currently meeting with departments for the creation of a Film and Animation major at WPI. Games are interesting, I love lore and art, but the idea of working on only those terrifies me. For me, I tell stories, and some stories are best told as a book, as a comic, animation, film, sculpture, photography, skit, and others are best told via games, and to be pigeon holed into only one of these I can’t stand the idea of. Everything is a story to me in some way. I tried 3D art, and past environments I got a bit frustrated, but c’est la vie.
Aside from drawing, I also do Photography, and my proudest moment is getting a piece of mine into a Modern Art Museum. As I mentioned writing, whether that’s novelas, poetry, novels, etc depends on what it calls for or what I am feeling at the time. I dabble in sculpture, it’s fun, that’s all I really have for that. I also am learning piano, dabble at music creation, and plan on doing dance if I have time! When I use to say I felt like a Liberal Arts kid at a STEM school, I really meant it I suppose. It’s hard to find one inspiration, but I definitely fine Rebecca Sugar as an inspiration, growing up I’d adored Saturday Morning Cartoons, and before long I was an avid enjoyer of all sorts of animated film, short films like Welcome to Hell, or anything. I don’t really know much about anime, but I’m open to learning! Most of the animated content I acquire is either Canadian, French, or American so. I’ve hit this point where I can’t help but analyze every piece of art, animation, lighting, photograph, film, etc and try and take out which pieces I enjoy, how they did x, and it’s been a big help as a skill.
I’m excited to get to meet everyone, and I hope to get to know you all well and hopefully be able to learn much from everyone! Also, if you ever see anything listed as “Victoria Bradley” that was my former last name, I recently changed it back to my last name given to me at birth so don’t be confused.
Without further adeu, some of the pieces that I’ve either finished, or are Works In Progress. All photos were taken with my iPhone 5s at the time.

A series of poems I wrote when I was 15, the three shorter ones written in 5 minutes each, the longer one was written in 20 minutes https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nDh6pR9saJUZ0aJESOGGa17tPBP_WN–aJ70uKciVMc/edit?usp=sharing

Detailed: I really enjoyed your photography in particular, because it seemed like you focused on a particular area of the subject and focused in on it. I especially struck by the one you used for your feature photo.
Badge Given: Impressive
All of the photos taken have a strong sense of nature which is impressive to see when the images are next to one another.

I really like all the close ups you’ve done with your work! Really pretty stuff 😀

Your photography pieces are beautiful, and they bring a sense of comfort when seeing beautiful and calm scenes of nature.

I love your photography, especially of the flowers and your doggo is adorable!
Impressive!
All the photography really bring a new point of view to discover some the beauty that is hard to noticed in daily life. Especially in the reflection picture, the branches seem to grow vigorously from the pile of stones on the ground. What a idea!
Badge: Thought-provoking
I always find photographs make me think about things more than any other art form. I’m always thinking about why the photographer took that photo, yknow? So when I see your photos, I think, and that’s cool!
Impressive- You have so many different skills, which is a huge feat! Sculpture, photography, writing- I can’t imagine being able to successfully do all of these as well as you have!! I am really glad to hear you’re finally letting yourself explore your passion despite what others may say, something I’m sure all of us artists here at WPI can relate to- keep it up!
Familiar
These photos for some reason capture a lot of stuff that looks like it belongs in the town I grew up in! You said you grew up partially in New England so that makes sense. They are all very pretty and I love all the nature related shots.
Badge: striking
You really have a knack for photography, from the choice of colors to the placement of objects in your pieces. I like the painting of the blue bird. I hope we can get to see some more digital or traditional paintings like that one, it is really pretty.
I think a part of me will go with familiar. I do not understand any hurtles you may have gone through, but I can understand feeling inspired from animation. I often feel the happiest when I’m engrossed in a series. Steven Universe was an amazing show. Also, I have watched a couple anime, and would recommend FullMetal Alchemist Brotherhood and To Your Eternity. They both have great storylines and character development.
