Game Proposal: iVampire (Workshopping Title)

The game will be a mix of the adventure and stealth genres. The goal of the player will be to avoid certain obstacles while trying to solve a mystery about themself. The setting will be in a medical facility.

The player’s objective is to escape a mysterious laboratory and building while avoiding sentries. The player will be the lead character in the game. The sentries to avoid will be variations of drones and vampires. Some drones will resemble airborne Amazon delivery drones, and others will be on the ground. The vampires, for this level at least, are static objects unless the player approaches them.

The world itself is a mix of Victorian and technological aspects. Some steampunk art will be used as inspiration for integrating Victorian-era architecture with futuristic technology. The technology will resemble that of stores such as Google and Apple. The urban setting has most of the cohabitants be AI, robots, vampires, and humans. AI often take on the role of designers and innovators who have robots carrying out their whims. Vampires in the city often take on the role of mystical advisors, which provides most of them a middle, or upper-middle class living. Humans are often used to feed vampires and very few make a viable living. The protagonist is a combination of vampire and AI, where an AI has been implanted in a vampiric body. A feature to the game will be the protagonist’s ability to switch between techno or blood vision. Essentially, the player can choose to have the protagonist see the world as a vampire which entails heightened predatory senses, or techno-vision which aids the protagonist in navigating around a technologically developed landscape. These aspects are a combination of what vampires and AI see daily, where vampires see almost every living thing as a potential resource, and AI try to innovate everything since they were made to operate in an artificial world.

The intended audience for the game is teenagers since blood might be involved, but also the game will have a significant focus on technology, robots, and AI. In addition to blood, the theme of the game focuses on identity and how one views the world around them. The game will be in first-person perspective.

The style of the game will fall within a science-fiction and fantasy genre. The setting will draw inspiration from Victorian London, the steampunk subgenre, and technology stores. However, the overall setting will be in an urban area. The characters will be stylized with vampires consisting of darker colors like black, red, and violet; while AI and robots will consist of brighter colors like white and blue.

I’m aiming for the protagonist to be a little disheveled, especially for this level, but will also be wearing parts of a professional attire. Please comment on any suggestions as I’m in the process of designing the character.

    Wow, this is a fascinating setting. I really wanna know more about how AI developed in a Victorian style world! Do vampires use AI? It seems like you are trying to imply they are very disconnected. And why these two things to combat each other? So mysterious!

      The AI have their own autonomy, so they work with the vampires. They see each other as very powerful in their own ways, and acknowledge that they need humans for their own needs.
