I ended up experimenting a lot with the various textures I did in class. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with regards to my textures, as I knew I wanted to go with a pixelated low poly texture look but didn’t know quite how to express that in Substance Painter. My initial plan was to draw a texture, then to add a realistic texture mapping to it. However, I ended up deciding that it was both a) really hard to figure out how to add a mapping onto a texture and b) it just didn’t look particularly nice to have a realistic mapping on a flat texture. After sitting down for some time, I realized it was both easier and better looking to simply import the textures as materials directly into Maya and apply UV mapping to make them look nice.

A few objects (namely some metal textures) were created out of the texture options in Maya, but here are the textures I created myself.
