Hey there, it’s been a while. So, for the past term I’m been working hard on Sparrow, working on the assets that will create the planes that will fly across the sky and some of the floating islands that will populate it. For now, I have not created the scripting for 3D plane movement, thus the reasoning for the 3rd Person Controller and the flat-ish level design for this environment.

For the texturing work, I decided against doing texturing and UV-ing on the smaller pieces of the plane themselves, due to my workflow making it so I would of have to done it again once another plane was made. For this post, the plane itself is not textured due to some issues with substance painter and some mesh planes but it and the other planes will be textured towards the end.
The islands weren’t too hard to make, being able to bang them out fairly quickly and making some unique shapes to customize the world. I’m not the best at texturing so I made sure to keep it simple on them.
