INKLET- Final Project Hannah Miller

In this game, you play as a new employee at a mysterious ‘Painting’ company. In reality, they go around collecting little creatures, called ‘Blots’, who eat the colors out of everything around them. This project was a vertical slice of this game, containing one level with 100 blots total to collect. You have to pick up and move around grocery items, jump to get up high and look by your feet, and comb through the whole environment to find every hidden blot. There is also a timer, recording how long you took to complete the level.

This project taught me so much. Coming into the class, I had no experience in Unity at all, and now I feel really confident in my ability to use it. I practiced the 3d model pipeline, something I haven’t done since freshman year. I am not really a 3d artist, so this was a good way to force me to get some practice in and I actually had a lot of fun doing it! I also learned quite a lot about scripting, as I wrote a lot of the scripts in the game myself, and edited the ones we were given a lot too. Although there were still a few major bugs I could not fix, the basic gameplay worked despite me having almost no scripting experience, and that’s something I’m proud of.
