The thing – Ian

on

Here are all of the updated images in unity thusfar. My two main goals moving forward will be to refine some of the smaller details just so the factory floor is a bit more interesting and doing the texturing. Because of the size of most of the assets, I have set up several triplanar mapping shaders with a bit of uv distortion so I can have tiling materials that look good and have a reasonable texel density. I haven’t really plugged in any textures yet so that will be the next step. I also decided to make my landscape a mesh instead of a unity heightfield because there are no ways (that I could find) to make a landscape shader in the shader graph(which is a must for me). I certainly have a ton more work to go but I hope to have a reasonable, fully featured environment before thanksgiving. I would like to add to it for the rest of the term if I have time though.

Also. I need foliage. I kinda forgot about that.

I have a construction question! It’s clear the entire structure was modeled in maya – was it all one piece? How did you do the interiors? It’s very cool!

The layout is really unique and the building fits within the terrain really well. I know you mentioned this was a dam, are you planning on adding water to the landscape?
