Progress Low Poly – Burning Memory

This weekend I decided to see if I could put color on my objects within Unity, I want to see how the colors interact with the environment and because this is my first time using Unity for 3D games this could go wrong very fast. But currently, I have established a quick technique in Maya to get an aesthetically pleasing looking low poly aesthetic. The final color and lighting are not implemented at the moment and should make it better to look at when the final project comes around. Also, I want time to record my voice on a Zoom H1 to get good voice audio for this game.

Here is the view of the modular kit from a bird’s eye view, I have located a secret that needed exact proportions to make it effective. Technique Divisions->Sculpt->retopologize->Triangulate->Hard Edge->Reduce.

Here is a birds-eye view of the modular kit’s layout, and the player is about the same size as the red tent down below. I have added the Low Poly Technique to my other objects and it gave it an abstract but down-to-earth feel.

Here is another view from the ground, I have made the ramp leading to the lookout and I have not shown everything because the gameplay is a secret for the moment.

So instead of texturing, I messed around with the Maya presets until I got the low poly effect I was looking for. This will speed up my production time and will let me apply the colors to the objects in Unity when that time arises within the class. I am thinking of adding an update in about a day showing the Unity side of the project, but I am unsure at the moment since I still need to get used to using Unity at the 3rd dimension.
