kateri “kiki” bajer – rice fields level design

on

I actually went through a few iterative steps with my level, despite it being fairly simple and having a good idea of how it would look from the get go. This is namely because there were a few significant elements I wasn’t sure whether or not I wanted to add; did I want to have the sloping hills a lot of rice fields were traditionally known for? Did I want to have the house accessible? What could I add in order to fill the space while still keeping the openness of the area that I wanted?

I decided to have the house accessible, with only a kotatsu, a table, and potentially a stove inside, which I did not include in this blockout. In addition, I only filled up one rice paddy with rice stalks, though in the end game all of the paddies will have them. I just did this to avoid clutter.

There are also a few things that I changed from the graph paper drawing, namely removing a few power lines and pushing the home back further to make more space for the slope.
