Modular Building Kit Concept -Julian Herman

Sketches for modular building components to be used in my level.

  • Wall/Building Decals: Decals that would go onto buildings in certain spots to make them appear more representitive of actual buildings, even if they are intentionally designed and rendered in a way for them to appear unconvincing.
  • Graffiti: Smaller sketches to add detail to the environment and buildings. Similarly help to give the environment a playful/anarchic personality, giving the impression the level is the players playground and they should enjoy themselves and have fun in it.
  • Building/Structure Shapes: Different 3D Decals that can be placed through the environment dependent on what location works best for level flow. Aspects such as size/length/height can similarly be adjusted based on location in the levels themselves. All structures/buildings should have a Red/orange/yellow palette and color to them to help differentiate them from the player.
MoodBoard: Sides of buildings should be flat to make sure player doesn’t get stuck up on geometry while traversing the environment, want to keep game flow as smooth as possible. Should experiment with roof shapes, perhaps making the edges more curved to make sliding down off the roofs more fun.
