Hi Everyone!!
My name is Hannah. I am a senior concept artist, and I really want to work on games for children and young adults once I graduate. I was born and raised in New Hampshire, but moved to cape cod in highschool where I currently live.
Art is a huge part of my life. I have loved creating in all different mediums since I was a toddler, and I am structuring my entire career around art. I only began painting digitally my sophomore year of highschool for a game jam I was a part of, though- an awesome experience which led me to be here. If you haven’t been a part of a game jam yet you should- IGDA does one every term and they’re so much fun, and they’re a really great way to make a game quickly !!
I want to work on my 3d skills, especially in this class- I’ve taken all the 3d classes, but I truthfully haven’t worked on 3d at all in my free time. I work in 2d painting, animating, and illustrating exclusively, Having 3d skills in my portfolio and tool belt will only help when it comes to concept art and getting hired.
As far as other creative interests, I really like pre-made craft kits in my free time- things like paint by numbers, cross stitch, or those really annoying wood/metal projects you get to assemble. Its a nice way to create without having to make as many decisions. Here’s a cross stitch i’ve been working on during quarantine (its huge by the way- 24x36in):

I’m not just an artist- I also really love playing video games and watching TV/Movies. Right now, My favorite game is the new Pokémon Snap, and I just finished watching Hunter x Hunter.
That’s pretty much it! Incase you’re curious, here’s my carrd with my social media & portfolio: nyxart.carrd.co

Gorgeous
The variety in your pieces is great, showing off vitiation in line weights, color types, and different styles of rendering. You manage to show off your strengths as an artist expertly with very lived in tactile pieces whos visuals stick with the viewer as they ruminate on them.

I love the grimness of the last few pieces. The atmosphere of all of them is so lovely and fascinating.

The illustrations and cross stitch are really gorgeous and I love the variety of styles.

I honestly thought the picture of the lamp was a photograph at first; it wasn’t until I had seen it two or three times that I was like “ah, wait a minute-” Needless to say, your style and aesthetic is so lovely and detailed! Your care for your work is apparent in all your pieces. Good work!
Shiny: Your lantern piece is beautiful. It brings such a cozy feeling from winter memories I have.
Badge Given: Dark
I really like the perspectives and dark tones your pieces take when it comes to the message or the setting.
Striking
I really like the variety in your portfolio especially the last piece, the lighting is really really cool and there’s this kind of softness that the figure has that I really like. Your background / landscape art is beautiful as always and you can tell that they took a long time and a lot of love to make. Your portfolio shows that you have a wide range of artistic talent. I literally thought your featured image was a photograph until 2 seconds ago
Striking
What strikes me the most about your art, particularly the lantern and the final drawing of the woman is how the interaction between lighting and shape in your work. The lantern looks so real because of it, and the woman so surreal. Really awesome stuff.

Lots of beautiful pieces. The ones I loved most were your bright red lantern and your cross stitch piece. So many colors in the cross stitch with such complexity as well!
Gorgeous
I really like all of your pieces and the variety of skills being showcased! In particular, your lantern painting is fantastic!
Impressive
I can definitely tell you have been working on your art skills for a long time! All of the work you shared here is very polished and well done. That lantern is especially detailed, good job!
Impressive!
The color your pick really impress me! Especially the cross stitch of Kanagawa-oki Nami Ura. Comparing with the original one, the red and green color really made some aggressive visual impact. the pink color give me a sense of flesh and meat. that’s very fantastic! And the city scene is also very good: the complexity of building is getting higher when our view is closer. That’s very useful.

The drawing with the laundromat and the blood stains has a nice cartoony style (kinda out of context but it reminds me of a music video from a rock band “Royal Blood – Out of the Black”.) I also love the landscape drawing of the city, with decreasing detail as the buildings go out, and the lantern painting which has nice colors and good visualization of reflective light.
I just looked up the video and oh my god thats so cool I love it, will def be listening to more of their stuff !!!!!!!
I think I will go with impressive! All of your work demonstrates the astounding abilities you have with 2-dimenional art, and based on this I assume you will be able to be produce many amazing 3-dimensional pieces.
