I am Natalie Milgram and I\u2019m from Needham, MA. I\u2019ve always liked to make things. When I was younger, I was more into music, playing instruments and writing songs for piano. Then later, I liked learning about STEM and enjoyed building robots. Once I got to WPI in their robotics engineering program, I decided that I wasn\u2019t as passionate about building robots. I decided to change my major to IMGD (BA) in C Term Sophomore year because I enjoy imagining characters and worlds. My favorite part of art is coming up with new ideas and quickly expressing myself on paper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After I switched majors, I started learning to draw and paint. After carrying my sketchbooks around for about 2 years and taking a few courses in drawing\/painting, I have gained experience. I enjoy observing people and places, taking notes on colors, values, anything which I can then  incorporate into works from imagination. I have been trying to increase my anatomy knowledge and improve my painting abilities to execute more realistic works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have experience with traditional mediums including gouache, acrylic, oil paint, charcoal, and watercolor. I have taken some IMGD\/AR coursework so I have gained some skills in Photoshop, Premiere, various video and graphics softwares. While I have some skills with digital art, I prefer hands on mark making using traditional mediums. I have very little experience with 3D software and digital game design, so that\u2019s definitely an area which needs improvement. I do enjoy game design, but have only developed analog games (tabletop games). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like to find a career where I can come up with ideas, be creative, and work in a team. I am possibly interested in working at an animated film studio. In my free time, I like to be outside, people watch, or be creative though cooking, playing piano, sculpting, or daydreaming worlds in my head. My main inspirations include Shaun Tan, Hyman Bloom, Alberto Giacometti, Maurice Noble, Kathe Kollwitz, Jackson Pollock and Daumier. I am also inspired by concept art for animated films, specifically older Pixar films like Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and The Incredibles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
