A pixie is very similar to a fairy in both size and nature, but they do not have wings. The player will be playing in first person, so they will not actually be able to see the pixie. The objective of the game is to make your way through the Toadstool Forest. The pixie you are playing has never been out of the Toadstool Forest, so she wants to see what the world is like outside. The game mechanics are very basic because the player is walking through a mushroom forest that is much like a maze. The player mechanics are to have you be able to walk and look around, but nothing much more than that is needed. The main objective of the game is to make your way through the Toadstool Forest. This can seem like any easy task, but I will try to make the forest a bit of a maze so the player has to concentrate on how to get out. I would like there to be some animal characters in the game. I am not sure on what types of animals they will be because many types of animals could live in the forest, but maybe a mouse would be fitting. Since the character is so small, the animal characters will look much larger in comparison. The game takes place in a magical fantasy world, so I will be using some really pretty and vibrant colors in the Toadstool Forest to make it seem more epic. The main features of the game will be the magnificent toadstool you see in the forest. There will be different sized, shaped, and colored ones that you will see throughout the game. The pretty colors and fantasy feel of the game is supposed to hook the player and make them want to keep exploring the forest. There are three main highlights of gameplay. The player starts off in a little pixie town, there will be a few cute small pixie houses there. The player then journeys through the Toadstool Forest; this part of the game will be the substantial portion of the game. The final part is when the player finally reaches the end of the forest to see the outside world. This game can be played by anyone; there are no inappropriate elements in it that children would not want to play, and the mechanics are simple so anyone can play. If I had to say an audience I think it could appeal to the most, it would be kids. Children love fantasy and bright colors, which my game will have. I think they would have a lot of fun walking through a game where they see magical things and being tiny is fun too. The game style will be cartoony and whimsical. I will achieve whimsical aspect of this by making the colors I use more vibrant and fun than they might have been in the real world. The art style I will use will play into the theme of the game. I will use colors that highlight the fantasy and fun in the game. The game will be set during the day in spring time; this will allow me to use really vibrant and fun colors, since spring is the most colorful season. The art will not be very realistic and instead will be more stylized and cartoony. I do not want there to be many shadows or dark elements to the art because I want it to stay really fun and light hearted.

Concept Sketches:

Reference Images/Mood Board:

Above is a picture of toadstools.
