I wanted to do something different for this assignment, so I decided to make a whole new abstraction. I was inspired by the fact that it was Halloween yesterday and my love for old videogames and decided to make my own abstraction using a ghost from PAC-MAN. The ghost was a pain to make, but doable as it was basically just a bunch of rectangles. When I finished making my ghost I tried to animate it, but I could not figure out how to make all of the individual shapes move together as one. I used jit.gl.multiple, but still could not maintain the shape of the ghost and move it at the same time. I want to learn more about how to do this in the future, but at this point I needed a new idea. I still wanted to put my ghost in here though because I think it is really cool.<\/p>\n

At this point, I decided to try out the jit.mo tool and I really liked the bubble effect that it produced. I also wanted to keep to my Halloween theme and found a bunch of intense and kind of creepy music on Freesound to use in my animation. Here is a picture of my Max patch:<\/p>\n

My animation includes four different playlists that randomly play the same set of sounds. They are set to different speeds, so the sounds are layered to create an interesting random song. Two of the playlist circuits are connected to a jit.mo circuit and whenever the song changes the color and size of the bubbles in the jit.mo animation also changes.<\/p>\n
