I decided to go for a classic song, &#8216;Take on Me.&#8217; I focused my work on this because it&#8217;s a great song, and I figured most people recognized the song. I used 4 different clips to mix this. I had to download them from Youtube, then use Premiere Pro to cut them down to size. I realized that Max has a minimum time required in order for a video to play. This limited my creativity because I wanted to have very short clips and mash them together to make a sequence of words, but it wasn&#8217;t possible because they wouldn&#8217;t play due to a limitation within the Max environment.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of &#8216;Take on Me&#8217;. I tried to use clips that showed either an internal or external struggle, like the song lyrics suggest. So I chose a few of my favorite movie moments.<\/p>\n<p>I had lots of technical issues with this project. I was unable to get Max to detect the Xbox controller on my Macbook Pro, even with installing the software, so I had to use a desktop in FL 222. But when I tried this, I had an issue with getting the keys on the controller to be detected. I discovered that I had to completely remake the code to run the controller, and it did work. This took a lot of time to figure out, but I think I have a good understanding of how the controller input works now.<\/p>\n<p>Further, like I explained earlier, I had an issue with the short clips on my Max playback. Anything shorter than one second would often not play. So I had to extend the clips until they were long enough so that they would play. I also used a switch in my Max code, which wasn&#8217;t introduced in lecture. I use this to switch between &#8216;layers&#8217; of video.
