The concept I was shooting for with this project was to create origami flowers with colored sheets of paper that, when interacted with, corresponded to real flowers of the same color. The orange flower plays a stock video of begonia flowers and the white flower corresponds to a white rose. I originally wanted to use sounds instead of video, but I think the visual aspect is much more impactful in this sense.<\/p>\n
Getting things to work in Max wasn’t very difficult at all. It ended up being very simple, thanks to everything being previously setup. All I needed to do was add the videos. However, I wanted to add sounds, but I couldn’t get them to work with the video at the same time.\u00a0 I might have overlooked something minor. Hopefully in the refined version it will be functioning.<\/p>\n
In terms of hardware, the makey makey board is super easy to use and didn’t give me any trouble. The idea I have for containing the board and all of the wires is a flower pot of some sort. It will hold the flowers, but I’m not too sure on how I’ll work around the wires with respect to how they are connected to the flowers currently. The simplest thing I could think of was attaching them to the pedals on the origami flower.<\/p>\n
