Hi there! My name is Carrie. I’m from Franklin, MA which is just 40 minutes from Worcester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been creating illustrations since I was younger. It started with fanart of characters from the Warrior Cats series in 2009, and continued with exploration of different art styles, situations, mediums, and subjects for artwork such as humans, fantasy characters, and anthropomorphic animals (I’m sorry). Art is a part of my everyday life, it is my primary form of income and it is how I stay motivated to do other, non-art-related tasks. Art is my main way of letting my creativity and thoughts come out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have created most of my artwork digitally, on programs like Painttool SAI, Procreate, Photoshop, and recently, Clip Studio Paint. I am quite new to traditional art but it is something that I decided to start exploring over the summer. The concept of painting on paper using acrylic or watercolor is so foreign to me, it’s going to take a lot of practice to master those tools. Markers are another story entirely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I changed majors to IMGD from CS, so I have experience in programming. Unfortunately, I got extremely burnt out from early CS classes that I just knew I could no longer pursue a career in programming. I have never had the opportunity to use programming to create art, however, so I think that this class can provide a different perspective on the world of programming that conventional CS classes didn’t. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other arts that I enjoy are music, poetry, crafts, and theater. I have been interested in combining different art forms like visual arts with theater, or traditional paintings with crafts. I want to find new and interesting ways to put my characters in scenes and environments that illustration alone cannot achieve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I draw inspiration from video games and TV shows with unique art styles, old adult cartoons, and 60s \/ 70s culture. Art style is extremely important to me in any media I consume. Art style is an artist’s way of putting a piece of themselves in to their work. It’s like a signature. When I look at someone’s art style, I feel like I am seeing a part of them I couldn’t have seen by just looking at them or talking to them. I absolutely love how art, film, fashion, humor, and human interaction have evolved over the years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just want to flex that over the summer, I became the 55th best Sculptor player in North America & Europe on Identity V (asymmetrical horror mobile game). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
