For my final project, the goal is to create an interface where the tone of the song changes depending on the amount of light within the area. Once a user touches one of the input’s copper leaves, a delayed version of the same song plays. The theme was elements relating to fall and Halloween, which I view as associations to warm brown and yellow colors accompanied by a spooky aesthetic. In terms of a connection, I assumed that more company within a spooky song, as well as the presence (or lack thereof) of light assists in conveying out fear toward an audience. <\/p>\n\n\n

The interface uses MakeyMakey to have the user pick up a board with two copper leaves. Once a user touches one of the leaves while holding the board, a delayed effect for the song is activated. There are two leaves so two users can create a double echo effect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song played depends on the amount of lighting within the room. When the room is brighter, a lower pitched version of the song is playing. When the room is darker, a higher pitched version of the song is playing. Within this post is a compressed .zip file of a screen capture of this project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am uncertain about posting the recordings through YouTube since I am using music that was used in a 2014 TV show, which leaves the song out of the public domain and may lead to copyright issues. Unfortunately, a full video demonstrating the interface exceeds the maximum storage for WordPress and Discord, so I am unable to upload it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
