For my final project I decided to focus on how people might not want to connect or are overall trying to avoid it and talking to other about how they are really feeling\/what they really think.

My final project will allow for two to play a game together. The game takes place on a subway train where one user plays as the “protagonist” who doesn’t want to be talked to. The other player is the train itself and all of the people on the train.

The protagonist is trying to get home without talking to anyone while on their ride home and everyone else is trying to help the person by talking to them. The first player who is the antagonist has a controller made up of a light up piece of acrylic acting as their “phone”. It will alert the player on how much “stability” they have left via an LED. Several buttons in the shape of options will be available such as “oh, I’m sorry, I think my stop is coming up soon”, putting in headphones, turning around for a while, looking up memes, and just ignoring the person.

The second player on the train will have a console that controls the different people on the train alongside certain train aspects that would cause distress to the other player. This might include, having someone on the train talk to player one, turning off the lights, making a wifi-dead zone, or altering the look of different parts of the train (like the protagonist’s reflection or ads, or people). The last is more to represent the things the protagonist is ignoring.

Depending on what each player is doing, the actions will have different effects.

I’m not sure if I will be able to implement a very good endgame, but I will try to at least make the interactions between the train and the protagonist interesting.

I plan to use LEDs to make an immersive experience by matching the look of the train to the controllers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
