{"id":1298,"date":"2021-09-20T11:00:09","date_gmt":"2021-09-20T15:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3200-a21\/?p=1298"},"modified":"2021-09-20T11:00:09","modified_gmt":"2021-09-20T15:00:09","slug":"sydney-gardner-interactive-touch-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.joshuarosenstock.com\/teaching\/imgd3200-a21\/skgardner\/sydney-gardner-interactive-touch-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney Gardner Interactive Touch Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There are still a few technical problems to iron out, and I still want to see if I can spruce up the physical component\u2019s aesthetic, but other than that it is relatively functional!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was never able to get that conductive clay, but I\u2019ve found that using string still works very well and I think it still gets the original message of not having enough time or energy to do <em>everything<\/em> in a single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Interactive Touch Project: Input\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SDeDdfjY85Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The placement of the nodes hasn\u2019t changed much since the last iteration; I make it harder to make time for things that we would want to do for ourselves because often times students get into a work-first mentality and don\u2019t let themselves set time aside for other activities, or worse those activities become a source of stress. But they are still possible!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the animations themselves are still drafts and sketches, but they each have a little bit of movement to get the feeling of seeing a snapshot of a person\u2019s day (short but not static). The second problem being that I need to find a way to insert the wakeup animation first and the sleeping animation last, and the last one being that I keep getting accidental repeat inputs whenever I touch one node.
