For the interactive touch project, the goal is to have a series of animations activated upon the user’s discretion. The input sketch above shows a sewing needle attached to conductive thread. The user will hopefully use the needle and thread to touch three different copper strips which will activate their own animation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each animation will feature multiple fantasy creatures expressing empathy toward each other, based on the ideas of cognitive and emotional empathy, as well as empathetic concern. Cognitive empathy is the ability to understand another’s perspective. Emotional empathy is the ability to physically feel what another person feels. Also, empathetic concern is the ability to sense what another person needs from the person expressing the concern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The animation for cognitive empathy will have one of the creatures helping another in a menial task. The emotional empathy animation will have one of the creatures helping another who is physically injured. Finally, the empathetic concern animation will have one of the creatures comforting another who’s crying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am wondering if these animation may be distinctive enough? Considering some of the time I may have at my disposal, the animation will have to be very short, so I am wondering if these scenes will accurately convey their respective concepts or if there is a way for this to be improved?<\/p>\n\n\n
