Memory Final Sketch

on
My plan for the final to embrace the idea of memories, and familiar places becoming uncanny dream-like parts of your memory. The idea is that you start on a menu screen where a drawn brain will be staring back at you. You place one finger on the memory-reader and use the other to select and play scenes. Memories are not exactly how the past went, and they soon fade and obscure themselves into fantasies, but the impact they had on you remains.

I am planning on creating the interface with cardboard, paper, and tinfoil. The output is made in max and I am trying to find more interesting ways to make still images feel alive. What do you think? Should the images feel as if they are in motion or should they remain as stills, like photographs of memories?

I think this is a really col concept! The images do feel a little static, and I think that maybe there could be more movement involved, maybe just by having some sort of ripple effect on them or something similar . It would kind of be like how you mentioned that memories themselves are in a sort of flux.

Nice video concept! I really like the way you post-process these videos. It’ll be cool to toggle some more extreme post-processings when the mood gets extreme. Really looking forward to trying tomorrow!
