Sneaky Snowden

For this project, since it focuses on capturing a users video and/or audio, I thought I could try to elaborate on the fact that anyone could be spied on at any moment, especially on their smart phone. The goal is to create an interface recording both audio and video, and each triggers either an audio, or video, component based on parameters such as the volume of the sound being recorded.

This is my voice work, so I can attempt a second time if it doesn’t sound threatening enough.

Unfortunately, the audio component does not seem to be working and I am workshopping ideas for what could played for the visual component.

Please comment on if the voice work needs improvement, how I can try to fix the audio trigger, and/or general suggestions for this project.

Neat idea! It really makes you think about your privacy. As far as the audio goes, I would make the “you” included at a faster pace as the time difference takes away from an aggressive impression.

One suggestion for the audio issues is to try and make the trigger more sensitive/more insensitive, depending on if the audio triggers too often. Overall, I think the voice work is menacing and works well.

A lot of the times when I encounter similar problems I would try to reopen Max first. And probably check your audio input device in your audio options.

I know there are ways on reaper to make your voice sound lower and static but the current audio is fine for now. I think that having a camera with an interesting image or word would be fun, then if the user gets too close or is too loud the sound goes off.
