Meme Remix Sketch: QuarterAttack

For this sketch, I tried to distort the audio and video of a scene I found hilarious on RoosterTeeth’s Camp Camp. It’s a comedy show aimed for older audiences and focuses on the hijinks of a group of campers (sometimes other secondary and tertiary characters) often rebelling against the authority of the camp’s counselors.

The scene used is from the episode below:

In the premise of this episode, the counselors are trying to raise money to keep the camp running by holding a fundraiser for their quartermaster’s ‘missing’ hook hand. In the show, the quartermaster often takes on roles such as serving meals, driving a bus, and handling eldritch horrors. In the episode the counselors stole the hook hand as part of a ploy to raise the money through sympathy.

For me, as an avid watcher of comedies, these type of premises often don’t look at the ethical ramifications of stealing a friend’s stuff which is supposed to ultimately serve the ‘greater good,’ but in this scene the price is paid in full.

I was hoping to have the video play on the window itself, but could not figure it out. Please advise as to how I can achieve this, or if I misunderstood what a meme is.

I liked the show and this piece really put a horror implications to the quartermaster. The video looks like its hooked up to the jit.gl.videoplane window, maybe the viewer is messing that up but I would talk to Rosenstock just to make sure.

I was not initially aiming for horror, but I was trying to take the color away from a scene depicting a justly angry character.

Very nice in terms of visual effects, and really evokes a nice silhouette out of the characters. Also an interesting choice for an interaction. Generally a nice little piece.

I find the topic interesting that you chose! I kind of want to watch the series now.

To answer your question. You can use a jit.window videoplane mixture to output video
