Shape of a Story – Geometric Patterns

My final project took a turn away from raymarching and into the vertex shader to create geometric shapes. The physical piece consists of a Makey Makey kit for touch points to spawn the formations, and an arduino slider and force sensor to edit their configuration.

The physical interface, and the two wires. Red (Makey Makey) and Blue (Arduino).

The piece is designed for two people, requiring one hand on each of the touch points, and another hand to activate the arduino’s slide and force sensor. The whole physical piece and electronics were put in a cereal box. The digital visuals were created in order to draw attention to the shapes’ intersections.

I really like your hand-drawn props. The interaction looks super cool and the generated video that changes each time when you touch the contacts also looks eye catching.

The hand drawings are very inviting for the user to touch and interact with.

I really like how lively the two hand drawing looks. And the moving geometric patterns are mesmerizing to look at.
