Interactive Input Sketch (John L)

The image above is a prototype of my controller. Instead of making a boring interface that would just be regular buttons, I wanted to go off of the feedback of making a crane that someone could control. The crane works by allowing the person to move it left and right. At some points of the long wire, there is stray wire that allows for a connection to ground. This allows the person to control the animation with the wire. The image below is a close up of it.
There is also a button that is to the left of the crane. This button is what will simulate the crane dropping the person and changing them into the “regular” and “boring” identity. The button is shown in the image below.

I am thinking about masking the whole project with newspaper, in order to get rid of the glue and cardboard. However, I also like the way it looks because of how it looks more “industrial.” My question is should I use newspaper to cover some areas of the project?
